Polynesian Dance Workshop 2024 Recap

The Polynesian Arts Council of Cleveland sponsored a Polynesian Dance Workshop April 6 & 7 in Columbus, OH! The workshop was led by Malia Erena Tafua, an esteemed instructor who is the mentor to two premier Ohio Polynesian Dance Groups - Mahana Productions in Columbus, and Pacific Paradise Entertainment in Cleveland!

Over the course of the weekend, participants learned:

  • Ori Tahiti basics

  • A Tahitian aparima

  • A Tahitian otea

  • A Samoan Sasa

  • A Maori haka

  • Tahitian drumming
